Save The Rainforest For Our Children.org is a non-profit organization with a simple mission:
To ensure the protection of high-risk areas of rainforest through active conservation efforts, education, and co-operation.

We have been fortunate to team up with Fazenda Natureza, a grassroots Brazilian group with very similar ideals. Fazenda Natureza has started with 600 acres of pristine rainforest along the banks of the Juruena River, in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil.
First, by procuring Federal Private Reserve status from the Brazilian government, the land will be protected under federal laws, which provide harsh penalties for illegal logging and poaching. The land will then be let out for use to various international academic institutions active in the region, as a site for rainforest flora and fauna research. Access to the land will be limited, and field researchers are required to abide to strict behavioral guidelines.
By working with the local community, we are careful to ensure that the protection of this invaluable resource does not come at the detriment of the local economy. Finally, by allowing the public to participate as co-conservationists by becoming stewards, adopting a tree, or purchasing carbon credits, we are able to combine the efforts of a wide variety of people, and truly make a difference.
